Boredom drives a man to do extreme and irrational things, sometimes. Ennui is the ultimate motivator,
some would say. The catalyst for endeavors that could be considered humorous, entertaining or even offensive. This concept is manifested in a tale that begins about a month ago. I was enjoying an informative television show which was filling me in on where many long-forgotten journeymen actors had turned up, when the well of prosperity had dried up. While none held any particular interest to me, I was intrigued to hear that Jodie
Sweetin, who starred as the precocious moppet "Stephanie Tanner" on TV's "Full House" from 1987-1996 was married. It came as quite a shock to me, naturally. Who would think that the sometimes acerbic, sometimes pesky middle sister (known best for her adorable mantra, "How Rude!") had succumbed to the throes of matrimony? Curious to know more, I sought out the aid of an internet website which paid homage to her, "The Sweet Shop," and confirmed what I had heard. Seeing as I was already on the site, I felt that a bit of browsing was in order.
After all, who among us hasn't wondered what JODIE SWEETIN has been up to these past few years? We all know that Candace "DJ" Cameron married russian hockey star Valeri
Bure, of the St. Louis Blues...and no mention need be made of the prodigious success the Olsen Twins
have enjoyed since the show's finale, but there has been little word of what Jodie has been up to.
Before
long, I stumbled upon a message board, and my curiosity was further
piqued. I had to know "what kind of things are people saying about an
actress that has been out of the limelight for 8 years?" What I found
appalled me. The posts were all of two forms: girls professing their
idolization of Jodie...and guys professing their love. Naturally, this
all seemed too much for me to pass up. I read for a while, chuckling as
I went...until I found several posts by an individual who greatly
intrigued. Ladies and Gentleman...meet our unwitting subject....Randy D.
His posts were somehow different...in that he was the only one who came
right out and asked, "Does anyone have Jodie's phone number? let me
know." Now, I'm not one to pass up a golden opportunity such as this. After creating a false yahoo address for my
purposes...i set into action....THE STEPHANIE TANNER PROJECT: MY LIFE IN LOVE WITH JODIE SWEETIN. These are actual unedited
emails, recorded phone calls and IM conversations from this experiment. I hope you are entertained and educated by
them.
